Joey Armstrong, currently the reigning San Joaquin Athletic Association Most Valuable Player in both football and baseball for the Lodi Flames, has decided to forego his senior season in football to concentrate on baseball only.
As a junior quarterback, Armstrong led Lodi to the Sac-Joaquin Section semifinals last season by throwing for 1,666 yards, rushing for 498 yards and having a hand in 30 touchdowns. He also played safety on defense, leading Lodi with seven interceptions and was second on the team with 87 tackles.
