Caffese clutch at line as Tigers fend off Lions

Michael Caffese scored 18 points and sophomore Julias Thomas added 14 points and 14 rebounds off the bench to lead the Tokay High boys basketball team to a 63-53 win over McClatchy on Thursday night in the opening round of the Bill Cartwright Classic at Elk Grove.

Caffese finished 12-of-14 at the free-throw line and added two 3-pointers as the Tigers (1-0) set up a matchup with Sacramento High in the semifinals today at 4 p.m.
