Gerald...You assume the kid had more to say. You don't know that. Where did I question whether he's a competitor or good ballplayer? OBVIOUSLY by his statements giving Antelope no credit for a TWENTY TWO point loss, he's a competitor. The fact Antelope held him to zero baskets no doubt added to his frustration. Wednesday, Lodi's big man is quoted as saying they didn't "give their best effort" against Antelope. I suppose you're okay with that as well. I have yet to read about the loss to Las Lomas, but suspect the article will once again have players slight the opponent. It will be all about what Lodi didn't do. Nobody is picking on anyone. I'm just pointing out what I believe is poor sportmanship. Give credit to the opponent when they've completely outplayed you. Remember, Antelope had to play without their 2nd leading scorer/leading rebounder/leading shot blocker because of a bogus ejection. Antelope didn't come out and say, "man, just think how badly we beat them with Isaiah". Quit making excuses for poor sportmanship. Why is Gonzalves at Lodi anyway? As a "fine young man", I would think he'd still be at St Mary's. What happended?

Mr. Day, you seem to make a lot of assumptions. Because it was not printed in the paper that Gonzalves gave credit to Antelope, you assume it did not happen. Do you honestly think that Gonsalves said nothing else to the reporter. I see you have one post, know a lot about the Antelope team and are probably a fan of theirs. I was at the game and Antelope played a fine game and as their coach said in the Sacramento Bee they played a perfect game. I think it is unfair to pick on Gonsalves when you don’t know the facts. I know Gonsalves and he is a fine young man. He is a competitor and good ball player. Your attack on Gonsalves is unjust and if you are as old as you indicate in the article, having watched games in that building for decades, immature. Sounds like your an old man beating up on a teenager.

First, congratulations to the Flames for making history and reaching the SJS CG. Can't blame a teenager like Gonzalves for disrespecting Antelope by giving them zero credit for the 22 point defeat. Guess he was still "frustrated". Clearly he's unaware the Titans have held opponents below their scoring average on 30 of 31 outings. Pretty sure that had something to do with why he stated "we just didn't shoot well." Not so easy to hit shots when somebody is all over you. The Titans have won 30 games without counting on 3's to do so. I've watched playoffs in that building for decades and perimeter shooting teams rarely shoot well inside the cavernous surroundings/backdrop. Given Lodi will host their 1st Round NOR CAL game, they have a great chance to advance as Antelope did last year after losing the SJS CG. Good luck to the Flames. Should they lose, I hope Gonzalves will give credit where credit is due...

Hey Rich- guess the path Lodi took wasn,t quite the same, since' 06 Tigers made it all the way to the NORCAL State Chmpnshp game! - Linden Grad.
