Cal Ripken 11-12 Farm League Championship Cubs ride big fifth inning to win over Braves

The Cubs used a six-run fifth inning and pitcher Ryker Henne struck out five batters, leading to a 14-8 victory over the Braves in the Cal Ripken 11-12 Farm League Championship game on Tuesday at Salas Park.

“The difference for us was our hitting. Every single kid on this team had a base hit,” Cubs head coach Tim Fritz said. “Ryker has been a mainstay for me all year. He’s pitched for me, he hits for me, he does a phenomenal job.
