Darcy Kuemper made 28 saves to win in his Ontario Reign debut, and stopped Ian O’Connor in the 11th round of a shootout to dodge a furious comeback by the Stockton Thunder (1-1-0, 1 point), who settled for a 3-2 shootout loss to Ontario before 5,623 fans at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario on Saturday.

The Thunder, who battled back from a 2-0 deficit in the third period, were aided by goals from Kevin Baker and Dan Ringwald. Rookie center Gabriel Levesque notched his second straight multi point game with a pair of assists and goaltender Olivier Roy settled for the shootout loss with 33 saves.
