Oakland A’s General Manager Billy Beane to speak at University of the Pacific baseball fundraiser

Oakland A’s General Manager Billy Beane and former Lodi GrapeSox/Lodi Baseball Club player Hunter Carnevale will be featured guests at the University of the Pacific’s annual Pacific Baseball Community Night on Feb. 3 at the Hilton Stockton.

Beane, the subject of the bestselling book and soon-to-be major motion picture “Moneyball,” will be the keynote speaker of the dinner and fundraising event. Carnevale, a former Pacific player and current New York Mets prospect, will be presented with the San Joaquin Amateur Athlete of the Year Award. Franklin High School and Delta College graduate Eddie Guardado, a former Minnesota Twins pitcher, will be honored with the San Joaquin Professional Athlete of the Year Award.
