It's become an annual tradition to tip off every high school basketball season. Area basketball teams hit the court for the Sac-Joaquin Section Foundation Games on Monday night, raising money for the section's scholarship program and the Women in Sports Conference. But just because the games don't count toward their season records, doesn't mean the games lacked excitement or hustle.

There were buzzer beaters and high-scoring nights for several local players, but Lodi High's Lilly Kerr earned the top play as she hit a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to lift the Lady Flames over Sierra 23-21.
