Encina Prep 32, Elliot 20 Football: Eagles come up short in bid for first victory

The Elliot Eagles varsity football team is improving each week, it’s just not showing up in the win column. The Eagles led at halftime on Friday night but couldn’t hold off the visiting Encina Prep Bulldogs in a 32-20 loss at Lincoln High School in Stockton.

“The kids played hard tonight. They hit hard and competed,” Elliot coach Tom Spadafore said. “If it weren’t for a couple of miscues we probably would have won. They had some broken plays that went for long runs.”
