The coach who led Liberty Ranch football’s stunning turnaround is moving on. After leading the Hawks to a 9-4 mark and two playoff wins in only their second varsity season, Anthony Linebaugh officially resigned on Thursday to take a head coaching and teaching job at Santa Barbara’s San Marcos High.

“It was a very tough decision,” Linebaugh said. “It was tough to leave the boys, we had made some great relationships over there and I had had some really good support from (Principal Brian) Deis and (Assistant Principal Joe) Saramago.”
