The Delta: Striper trolling has been on the slow side on the Sacramento River. Most fish are coming from the West Bank, Montezuma Slough and the lower bay from the Mothball Fleet down. Reported lures are Rebels and Yozuris. Fish are running between 5 to 10 pounds, with many being undersized.

Bait fishermen are working Decker Island down to Sherman Island to Chips Island using shad and sardines.

Sturgeon fishing is excellent from the Antioch area to Sherman Island and all the way up into Cache Slough. Jack Prestigiovanni and his fishing partner, Kita Till, caught three sturgeon on roe. David Portsheller landed a 59-incher. Lots of fish are showing up in the Cache Slough to Prospect Slough with many reports of sturgeon jumping. They feed mainly on salmon roe, shrimp baits and eel.

On the San Joaquin River, striper trollers continue to work the Big Break area, San Andreas and Santa Clara Shoals using Rebels, Bombers and P-Line lures.

Bait fishermen are fishing in False River using sardines and anchovies.

Bass fishermen are having better luck with plastics and jigs.

On the Mokelumne River, trolling for stripers has picked from B&W up through Beaver Slough using shallow running Yozuris and P-lines. Other are having success with Rebels.

Camanche: They are stocking trout at both shores and the south shore pond.

Many limits being taken with fish up to 5 pounds. Most anglers are pulling grubs and Rapalas. Fish are being caught in the main body, Big Hat to the dam all the way up the Narrows.

Bait fishermen off the bank are using nightcrawlers and PowerBait.

Pardee: Opens on Feb. 14. Campers can arrive on Feb. 13 with fishing beginning the next day.

New Melones: Fish and Game are planting at Glory Hole and Tuttle Town.

Trout trollers are working the spillway, the main body and inside the dam and Carson Creek pulling shad-patterned lures, Apexes, Needlefish, Kastmasters and flashers with threaded nightcrawler. Best depths are surface to 15 feet.

Bank fishermen are catching some nice trout, floating nightcrawlers, PowerBait and small minnows on a slip-bobber and casting Kastmasters, catching trout up to the 4-pound range.
