The Lodi Flames varsity baseball team hammered the visiting Chavez Titans 12-2 in Friday's San Joaquin Athletic Association opener at Zupo Field. The Flames (6-4, 1-0 SJAA) prevailing in a run rule-shortened, five-inning contest.

Grant Hennecke pitched all five innings, allowing just five hits and a walk while striking out six Titans. Both of Hennecke's allowed runs were unearned, coming off of Flames errors.
