Bear Creek's dream season has slipped through the cracks.

During an emotional meeting between parents, coaches and student-athletes at the high school on Wednesday, a somber principal had to explain that the boys basketball team must forfeit all but one of its victories this season because the program had unknowingly allowed an ineligible player to participate.

dmd4.. I didnt say that the Lodi Coach had something against the BC students! I said he has a personal issue with someone within the BC program! And I got that from sources outside of the BC program that have personally heard the coach of Lodi say some nasty things about that someone!

Let's get real. This isn't about Lodi trying to get revenge - that is just ridiculous. What does the Lodi coach possibly have against the students at BC. All that happened is that at the Lodi/BC game at BC a week or so ago, Bear Creek staff in the stands told the Lodi coach that the kid didn't go to BC. Any coach would question that. Put the blame where it should really lie - with the BC athletic director.

Hey Nutting & Knackstedt, Congratulations on your loss to Lincoln!! Kharma's a bitch aint it!!

But Im sure Lodi will find some other lame excuse for their losses!

Jeff..Well the "word on the streets" also says that Nutting has some personal issues with a certain someone in the BC athletic program!Their are people that arent even associated with BC's or LODI's program that have heard him say some pretty derogatory things! And as far as blaming the coach, the AD gave documentation to the coach showing the players eligibilty! And like UD said this has everything to do with Lodi's unsuccessful season and revenge! And don't be mad when that player comes back eligible next year and goes on a rampage against the Flamers!

If you don't know your own athletes as a coach, shame on you. If the AD doesn't check and do her job, shame on you. If you don't do what is right for kids. shame on you. If the principal doesn't check on his coach and AD, try doing your job, shame on you. Bring integrity back to high school sports!!!! Play by the rules!!!!

    ok. you might be right.

Don't kid yourself! This has everything to do with a lackluster lodi team and a coach out for revenge.

And I doubt that more two wins by forfeit will rocket the Flames much higher than their current 26th place ranking. I seriously doubt LHS boys will make the playoffs. That's not what this is about.

LetsBeReal, the word on the street is that the athlete didn't make grades, went to independent study and was taking only 1 class. CIF requires every athlete to be enrolled in at least 4 classes. The real classless character here is the coach that flaunts the rules and eligibilty requirements that are meant to create a level playing field. It is also the reponsibility of the AD to make sure each coach adheres to those rules and that each athlete has met the eligibilty requirements.

GREAT JOB NUTTING and KNACKSTEDT, This should really give you a great reputation within the athletic community!!

Lots of shame goes around to lots of adults but I think the most should go to Nutting on the sneaky way he dashed Bear Creek's hopes down! Couldn't stand it that Bear Creek's team was way better than Lodi's. Everyone knows that Bear Creek deserves the chance way more than Lodi does. Hope your butting gets kicked!

What it comes down to is that certain people at Lodi High could'nt stand to see Bear Creek, (whom shut out Lodi this year) be more successful than them. So in a last ditch effort to try to save their unsuccessful season and make it to the playoffs ( in which they wont even survivbe the first half of the first round), they started a witch hunt!Yes it was the athletic directors fault for not thoroughly checking elgiblity of players, And there should be some repercussions taken maybe even a termination! But at the same time it is sad that people at another school have to resort to low blows just to justify their unsuccessful pit falls!

Once again, Shame on Cynthia Phipps. She should resign or be dismissed of her duties. She has no follow through and has let so many of BC's teams down, as well as individual students, over her tenure as AD. Daryl Camp needs to do his job and eliminate her.
My heart goes out to all the students on the team, the coaches and parents. Keep your heads high BC, someday, you will really shine.
