Diaz, a Morada native who owns and trains at Cesar Gracie Academy in Lodi, turned back a determined bid by Evangelista Cyborg to win by second-round submission and successfully defend his Strikeforce welterweight championship before a pro-Diaz crowd of 9,048 at the HP Pavilion.
