Sarah Buyco picked a perfect time to hit her first home run.

Buyco hit a two-run shot to center field to help the Tin Grins Rebels jump out to a 3-0 lead over the Habanero Hots in the Babe Ruth 16U Softball championship on Wednesday night at Salas Park. She followed that up with a two-run triple, scored another run and also hit a single to lead the Rebels to an 11-7 victory for the title.

Congratulations to the Rebels who played really well all season! Thanks to Steve Brown, Ray Huey, our sponsor - John DeNigris @ Habanero Hots, and all the BOBS and parents (especially our scorekeepers, Jimmy, Gwen, & Carla) who make Rec sports programs in Lodi as good as they can be. I also want to recognize coaches Mike Toon and Michael Trujillo for the energy, patience, and invaluable expertise they brought this year (couldn't have done it without you!). And finally, thanks to the Hots players for making this such an incredibly fun season -- you ROCK! We all wish Emily Medrano- our captain- a speedy recovery on the injury to her ankle. We're with you, Em!
