Sloppy play dooms Tigers in messy loss

Only a day after Tokay High's boys basketball team created 43 turnovers against Sacramento High, the Tigers committed 41 turnovers of their own while falling to host Elk Grove 71-58 in the championship game of the Bill Cartwright Classic on Saturday.

The game was delayed over an hour and switched into a smaller gym because of a leak from an air conditioning unit. But the sloppy floor followed the play into the small gym as Elk Grove had 24 turnovers to Tokay's 41.
