Despite taking place early in the season, Wednesday's Lodi News-Sentinel track and field meet at Tokay High showed that local teams are loaded with talent and are rearing to go this season.

The competition was so close between the boys and girls squads from Lodi, Tokay, Galt and Elliot Christian, the final team scores were determined only when the very last results trickled in. When all was said and done, the Lodi boys won with 96 points, edging Galt's 91. Tokay took third with 60 and Elliot placed fourth with 11.
