It was a rollercoaster game with the Lodi High and McNair football teams trading big plays and blunders on Friday night.

Unfortunately for the Flames, the Eagles got to enjoy the last ride, answering Lodi’s overtime touchdown with one of their own and bettering it with a game-winning 2-point conversion to win the thriller 43-42 at McNair High.

What a heartbreaker. Great effort by our kids.

Joelle, you missed a big part of the story. The McNair kids were fired up to protect their home field. I heard several in the parking lot on the way home yelling about Lodi "disrespecting our house". There was no mention in the article about the unhappyness in the crowd for having to play a home game on the competitor's home field. It would have been much better to play at a nuetral site. And did you see the banner on the field? A picture of that banner would have said it all.

And where was the reporting on the crowd size. It looked like Lodi brought a huge crowd. Kudos to all the folks that traveled to see the game. You are very much appreciated by those of us with kids on the team. I know the kids love you all.

To Erin - didn't you say in the meeting at the gym that the reason we had to pay $8 per game was because we had to pay $1 per ticket for the use of the grape bowl? Well, we were not at the grape bowl and we still had to pay $8. I think you also said the gate fees were set by the SJAA. I realize the athletic budget is non existent and things are tight, but they are tight in our personal budgets as well. $12 a week to see our kids play ($4 for Freshmen on Thursday, $8 for Friday) on top of all the other fees we are paying is quite a bit. I know you are struggling during this time to get everything set up for our kids, but we should get an explanation as to why we had to pay the extra $1 when we were not at the Grape Bowl.
