There are times when greatness is surpassed. When a team achieves feats never thought possible. It’s rare, but it happens and when it does, sports fans get to witness history in the making. The University of Connecticut women’s basketball team and its relentless winning ways is a greatness that measures beyond great. The back-to-back national champions who own the longest winning streak in college basketball history at 90 games and running, have transcended wins and losses to become not only one of the best dynasties in sports history, but an ambassador for women’s basketball as well.

On Tuesday night, the Central Valley got to be a part of that legend. The Pacific Tigers became No. 90 in UConn’s victim list after an 85-42 rout in front of a sellout crowd of 6,150 fans at the Alex G. Spanos Center — the first in the history of the Pacific women’s program.
