Vaz, a Lodi product and former St. Mary’s High star, will get the starting nod on Saturday against Texas (8-4) in the Valero Alamo Bowl.
He received an early Christmas present when Oregon State’s offensive coordinator Danny Langsdorf told him of the news on Dec. 22.
