Local BMX rider T.J. Bettenhausen revs up for professional debut
Lodi’s T.J. Bettenhausen skies high over the track at Honey Lake Motocross Park in Milford earlier this month. Bettenhausen will be competing in his first motocross race at the pro level when he hits the track at the 43rd annual Hangtown Motocross Classic at Prairie City State Recreation Park in Rancho Cordova on Saturday.

For T.J. Bettenhausen, it all started with BMX bike racing.
As a young child, the Lodi native fell in love with competing on
his bike when he won his first BMX racing competition. When he was
11, Bettenhausen received a KDX80 motorcycle for Christmas and his
passion evolved into a love for motorcycles and motocross
