Seniors Kyle Rivers and Travis Dart made a deal before the football season started. If Rivers agreed to play football, Dart would join the basketball team in the winter.
A longtime basketball guard, Rivers hadn’t played organized football before. But at 5-foot-8, 158, pounds, he took the deal and has helped the Tigers reach the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I playoffs. Tokay earned a No. 6 seed and plays No. 11 Granite Bay Grizzlies today at 7 p.m. at the Grape Bowl.
