Despite loss in league opener, Flames still shooting for girls soccer title

Despite opening San Joaquin Athletic Association play with a 2-0 loss to the Tracy Bulldogs on Wednesday, Lodi Flames varsity girls soccer coach Tim Stutz feels his team will be in the mix for a section playoff berth this season.

Both of the Bulldogs’ goals against the Flames (3-4-3, 0-1 San Joaquin Athletic Association) came on deflections late in the second half and Tracy (7-2, 1-0 SJAA) held on for the victory.
