For much of the past decade, no softball program has enjoyed as much success as the one at Elliot Christian High School coached by Mike Pontius. The Eagles have been in the section final every year, hanging eight championship banners and two runner-up finishes in their trophy case.

Both losses in the championship title tilts were by a single run, including last season’s 11-10 loss to Millennium, otherwise Elliot’s streak would be 10 consecutive section championships and counting. But with the loss of 11 players from last year’s team, Pontius says his squad is in a rebuilding year.
