Shay Voorhees scored 13 points and Kaylee Buhrkuhl added 12 more for the Elliot Eagles varsity girls basketball team, which overcame a seven-point halftime deficit at home to win their third straight league game, 37-26 over the Big Valley Lions.
After trailing 22-15 at the break, Elliot held Big Valley to just two points in both the third and fourth quarters, ending the game with 23 steals. Emily Jo Copeland and Sammy Picone scored six points apiece for the Eagles (13-10-1, 5-2 Central California Athletic Alliance).
