Lodi Flames struggle but still knock off Bear Creek Bruins in league baseball opener

It wasn't the kind of performance Lodi head baseball coach Hobie Schultz was looking for from his team on Friday. But it was enough to give the Flames their first league win of the season.

Joey Armstrong, Luke Simon and Geeze Borges combined for six hits and five runs batted in as Lodi opened San Joaquin Athletic Association play with a 7-4 win over Bear Creek at Tony Zupo Field.
