Their season has just started, but it’s already gut-check time for the Lodi Flames varsity football team. Certainly, it was only one game — one that the Flames played short-handed against a quality opponent. But last week’s 68-13 shellacking at the hands of the Sheldon Huskies feels like an early crossroads.
“This week is big. How we bounce back is crucial,” said Lodi coach Robert Sperling, who will be looking for his first win when the team travels to McNair tonight.
