All Edison Vikings varsity boys soccer coach Ruben Martinez wanted to do was send his seniors out on a winning note in their last home game on the Vikings soccer field. Martinez didn’t count on a Tokay brick wall named Jose Gomez defending the Tigers’ net.

Gomez, a senior goalkeeper, made three highlight-reel saves in the final two minutes of the match, including two blocks on the same offensive play to preserve a 1-1 tie and deny Edison a win over Tokay in the Tri-City Athletic League finale for both teams on Tuesday at Magnasco Stadium.
