Lodi Flames will face San Joaquin Athletic Association baseball rivals more often under new format

The Lodi High baseball team is hoping to take advantage of a new league setup this year and return to the postseason.

The San Joaquin Athletic Association is expanding from a 10-game league schedule to a 15-game format. The change gives Lodi more chances to battle perennial playoff contenders Tracy and Lincoln and fight for one of the league's top two places, which come with a postseason invitation.
