Lodi Flames, Tokay Tigers lose in varsity girls basketball

A gutsy second-half rally from Lodi fell just short on the road, as the Flames (6-13, 1-3 San Joaquin Athletic Association) lost 43-39 to host Chavez. Lodi was behind by as many as 15 points against the Titans in the second half, and could not climb all the way back.

“We were right there,” Lodi coach Cal Krienke said. “We never had the lead, but we just kept chipping away, chipping away, chipping away. And we had the ball a couple times late in the game, we just couldn’t put it in the basket. We had good looks.”
