The Delta's striped bass averted being hooked into legislation last week, after being targeted as evasive predators wrecking havoc on the Delta's ecosystem.

Striped bass were the focus of Assembly Bill 1253, introduced by Assemblywoman Jean Fuller (R-Bakersfield) in February. The bill would have removed all of the non-native fish's game restrictions, including harvest restrictions, allowing unlimited take of any size and prohibiting any more striped bass from entering the state.
