Trevor Mabalon and Mack Bertram scored 12 points apiece and teammate Brett Rivers added a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds but a furious fourth-quarter rally by Tokay fell just short in a 54-51 loss to Valley High in non-league basketball action at The Jungle on Wednesday night.

The Tigers (5-8) extended their losing streak to five games and have lost four of those by a combined total of just 17 points. Tokay had its chances at the end of the game against the visiting Vikings (5-8), but after Rivers grabbed an offensive rebound and hit a runner in the lane to pull the Tigers within three points at 54-51, a Valley turnover led to Bertram missing on a long 3-point attempt with a second left as the Vikings escaped.
