Entering the season as the No. 4 high jumper in the state of California, Lodi High's Samantha Balentine was getting plenty of looks from colleges hoping to entice the senior.
While Cal and Nevada-Reno made good offers, in the end, Balentine went with the University of Hawaii. On Tuesday, in Lodi track coach Robert Winterhalter's classroom, she signed a letter of intent to compete for the Division I school.
