Jim Hanson hunches over during practice on Wednesday with his hands on his knees. His whistle is ready and his visor rests gently on his sunglasses.

Hanson has the look of a head coach down in his first season in charge of the Elliot Christian football team. He’s been with the Eagles for five years as an assistant and takes over in a pinch, similar to Tom Spadafore last year when Jason Tacderan stepped down just before the season started.
