Tigers avoid shutout with heavyweights stepping up

The Tokay Tigers wrestling team's 46-29 loss to Nevada Union in the Sac-Joaquin Section Team Tournament on Saturday at Pitman High in Turlock is good in some ways, coach Rod Gaines said.

With the San Joaquin Athletic Association Tournament next Saturday at Tokay, Gaines said the loss not only gets a bad performance out of the way but, more importantly, it can be used as motivation for the four-time defending league champion Tigers.
