Lodi varsity girls split pair of games at Western States water polo tournament

The Lodi Flames varsity girls water polo team went 1-1 on the first day of the Western States Tournament on Friday in Modesto.

The Flames opened with a 9-1 win over Kimball, getting five goals from Molly Bria and two apiece from Lauren Plunkett and Jessica Camper. Karleigh Goss had six saves in the cage and Megan Woods added three. Lodi fell to Rio Americano 6-5. Plunkett scored twice and Camper, Cierra Bertsch and McKenna Martin each scored once. Goss finished with 12 saves.
