By the time the Lodi Flames varsity boys basketball game got interesting Wednesday, the game was seemingly over. By the third quarter, Lodi was up by close to 29 points and coach Dave Nutting cleared bench. Yellowjackets coach Steve Kayson did the same and the teams’ reserves provided for some entertainment in a 74-44 Lodi victory.

The win snaps a three-game losing streak and stepped up in intensity with the bench players in. The teams exchanged baskets and even got a heated as the third quarter came to a close. Lodi’s Brody Nutting pushed the ball on a fast break and was shoved out of bounds by Justin Martinez.
