Lodi sports enthusiast Carol Marvel remembers Babe Didrikson’s day 80 years ago
Lodi resident Carol Marvel, seen here in a photograph taken on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, remembers attending the 1932 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles and the excitement of Babe Didrikson setting a world record in the javelin throw. It was the first Olympics women’s javelin competition.
