His starting pitcher was dealing all afternoon against the Lincoln Trojans, so Lodi's Grant Hennecke rewarded him for a job well done in the best possible way: By bringing him home.
With Zach Kramer at first in the bottom of the sixth, Hennecke blasted a two-run home run over Zupo Field's left-field wall — giving the Lodi Flames varsity baseball team a commanding 8-1 lead and his teammate even more breathing room, while announcing a coming-out party for Lodi's bats.
