With their head coach hospitalized, the Lodi Flames varsity girls basketball team kept rolling right along in Stockton on Tuesday. Monica Valenzuela had 14 points and six rebounds to lead the Flames to a 40-30 victory over the Franklin Yellowjackets, improving the Flames (13-7) to 3-0 in San Joaquin Athletic Association play.

Lodi coach Jim Staal was taken the hospital on Tuesday morning and diagnosed with double pneumonia. Staal said he could be in the hospital for as long as five days.
