Talented duo are friends, champs and future foes

Following Tokay High's win over McClatchy in the section basketball playoffs last Friday, Tigers reserve senior forward Jason Beilstein spoke animatedly about a favorite subject. It was not about basketball, but about a pair of remarkable local young men.

Beilstein, the former Tokay quarterback, also tutors the Mother Lode Bobcats football quarterbacks in his spare time. According to Beilstein, eighth-graders Seth Siddle-Mitchell, 14, and Ryan Pudwell, 13, are light-years ahead of where Beilstein's own quarterback development when he was their age four years ago.
