The Lodi Flames varsity boys soccer team finally enjoyed a calm half of soccer, bolstered their playoff hopes and honored a legendary coach in style. Not a bad Friday at the new Don Rostomily Field.

On the afternoon where Lodi High School officially dedicated its new field to the former longtime soccer coach at halftime, the school’s current team — mentored by a former pupil of Rostomily’s — moved into second place in the San Joaquin Athletic Association standings with a 5-2 drubbing of the visiting Tracy Bulldogs.
