Softball: Freshman Morfey nabs MVP honors; two Tigers, one Flame on first team

St. Mary’s pitcher and Lodi resident Carley Morfey had a dominant freshman season in the circle, and the Tri-City Athletic Conference has rewarded her with the co-MVP, along with Tracy shortstop Rachael Cid.

The Delta: Best striper fishing in the Delta has been on the Sacramento above Rio Vista. Cache, Miner and Steamboat sloughs along with the deep water channel are the best locations. Shallow trolling is producing and some anglers are in the deep water using deep divers with to get to the bottom. Angry Eye’s, Yo-Zuri’s and Rebels all working well, with some anglers having success on Rat-L-Traps as well.
