Spirit of Christmas 2004

Last-minute shopping

One cold snowy day in the month of December, a little boy named Jamie, age six, and his little sister Lauren, who was four, were both waiting eagerly for Santa Claus to come with all his reindeer, and them to get a few Christmas wishes.

Their parents hadn't gotten a thing for their presents, so they went shopping after their children's bedtime on Chirsmas Eve. Mom worked long hours and dad had a job traveling, so if left little time for them to shop.

When they were shopping, they passed up a great many stores 'til they found a cute little pet shop. They found a perfect little puppy.

She was a golden retriever, with a bright red bow tied around her neck, and she was a good price. So, they picked her to be the one for their eager little children's special Christmas wish. They got her a red collar with tiny jewels on it, and a matching leash.

Mom and dad hurried home to wrap their presents and place them under the Christmas tree. They put the new puppy in the basement on a warm soft blanket until Christmas morning. They stuffed the kid's stockings with handmade ornaments and candy, set out the children's presents, and put the puppy in her basket and went to bed. In the morning, the children ran downstairs to open up their presents. They were so excited to see all the new surprises. They named their new puppy Patches.
