Santa Claus brought his whole brigade to my house one year Carrie Seely I hope you enjoy one of my Christmas memories! It was a magical Christmas Eve. I was falling asleep to the sound of Christmas music playing over and over again in my head. “Jingle bells, Jingle bells,” and finally I fell asleep. I dreamed of sugar plum fairies dancing around in my head, and of what presents were waiting for me under my enchanting pine tree as I woke up early Christmas morning. The might quickly fades away to dawn. I woke to the sleigh bells that I hear ringing outside and looked out my frosted window to see a bizarre fantasy. Icicles were falling and shuddering from the top of my sparkling roof. Snowflakes lightly fell dizzily down to the arctic ground. My swimming pool was covered with a thin layer of glistening ice. Santa’s little helpers were ice-skating merrily on the top to the swimming pool humming different Christmas tunes. I also saw Santa’s reindeer playing joyfully with my dog. It’s true what they say about Rudolph the red nose reindeer, he really does have a nose that glows like a light bulb. I rubbed my eyes; I couldn’t believe what I saw for there on a chair on my porch Jolly Old St. Nick sat. He was sipping what appeared to be hot chocolate and nibbling on the oatmeal and chocolate chip cookies I baked for him the night before. He laughed a deep mumbly laugh, “Ho, Ho, Ho!” that I swear that you could hear it miles away. A magnificent fragrance seemed to caress my nose. I raced into the kitchen to see what was going on. There in the middle of my kitchen, I saw a petite lady. She was wearing a red and green long dress ... It was Mrs. Claus! She seemed to be cooking breakfast; hard-boiled eggs, golden hash browns, bacon and the most delicious looking French toast I had ever seen (no offense Mom). Silently, I passed Mrs. Claus, and she didn’t notice me. I looked out the window. “Wow,” I thought when Santa’s exquisite sled met my eyes. It was parked right there in the middle of my driveway. Suddenly, out of nowhere, I plunged to the hard, cold kitchen floor. A large streak of pain put chills over my body. Drearily I opened my eyes. But wait, the floor is now warm and soft. I’m not on the kitchen floor anymore; I’m on my bedroom floor!! I started to sit up, and raced to the family room where the fresh beautiful Christmas tree stood. What seemed like thousands of glittering presents shined under the tree. I looked out the window and I swear just for a second, I saw a glimpse of Santa Claus’s big red hat. Have a Merry Christmas!
