Memories can come in all shapes and sizes Shana McCloud How do you feel on Christmas? Do you feel tingles, sad, happy? Excited? I know I feel excited. I feel excited because all your friends and family visit you and its so fun to see the people you haven’t seen in a long time. I like Christmas because I am a kid and I get a lot of presents and friends and family to help me open them. Do you have a favorite Christmas meal? My favorite Christmas meal is a big turkey and some cranberry sauce, and don’t forget the apple cider. I also like cooking Christmas dinners. Then everybody loves the food you make and tells you how much they enjoyed it. It’s fun to have people tell you that you are a really good cook. Do you decorate for Christmas? Do you go buy a tree and use ancient ornaments? We get special ornaments from friends and family that we have saved since birth. It’s fun to pick out a special ornament for our “special people.” We have been saving the ornaments since the time we were babies. My mom says she will give each of us our collection of ornaments when we have our first babies and start the tradition for them. Have you ever gotten what you wanted for Christmas? Have you ever gotten what you didn’t? I remember a long time ago I wanted a Barbie house called the Barbie Beach Bungalow. I knew my mom got that present for me. So I begged her to let me open the presents sooner because Christmas was still a few days away. I absolutely would not stop nagging my mom. My mom finally blew up and said I could open the present if I left her alone for at least an hour. I was very happy to open my present and I played with it for several months. Don’t you just love Christmas? It brings you so many joys. You get presents food, clothes and anything you’ve ever wanted. Christmas is a giving day. I am glad that everyone still celebrates it.
