Christmas through my eyes Meghan Kennedy Santa Claus. Beautifully wrapped presents. Houses all lit up with lights. Families all together once again. These are few of the many phrases used to describe Christmas. Christmas, the beautiful season of joy, hope, and love. Now I will describe Christmas through my eyes. Decorations come first in our celebration of Christmas. Every inch is decorated with bright, beautiful decorations. It is so much fun to spend time decorating with my mom. She really gets into it. The tree is the best part of the decorations with my grandmother’s lights. Counting down the days until Christmas is something we also do yearly as well as a Christmas caroling party. During this most enjoyable event we go from door to door around the neighborhood to sing to the people that answer. Then afterwards, we come back to my house and have cookies and hot chocolate. It is a lot of fun! Another annual activity that I participate in during the holiday season is my school’s Christmas pageant. This is when we sign and act our the birth of Jesus. It is a good reminder of the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of our one true king. One of the most fun Christmas activities for me is our family trip to San Francisco. We usually go a couple of days before Christmas until Christmas Eve. When we are there we do many fun things such as ice skating, window shopping, cable car rides and much more. Then on Christmas Eve we go to a big party at my aunt, uncle and cousin’s house with all of my relatives on my mom’s side. We have a gift exchange, lots of fun and great company. Then late that night we drive home and get ready for Santa’s arrival. Christmas morning at last! Wake up early, run downstairs to see what presents there are for you, and smile at the camera as you wipe the sleep out of our eyes. The room soon fills with happiness, excitement and ripped wrapping paper. Wonderful brand new presents start stacking and toys begin to get played with. Now time for church, put on your Christmas clothes, and try to find a seat. Come back home, play some more, and greet family and friends. Sit down its time for feast. Laugh, drink, eat, be merry. Time for bed; don’t want it to end. Good night, pleasant dreams and Merry Christmas! Christmastime, the one time everybody feels happy, joyful and cod! Christmas is a very important time of year that everyone enjoys. I enjoy this season very much and loved writing about it. Merry Christmas, and I hope you enjoyed reading Christmas through Lodinews Home | News | Sports
