Some holiday memories are just plain crazyDylan BuschLockeford Honorable Mention: Juvenile Division, Fiction I think Christmas is the best time of year. I spend more time with my family than I would regularly. I am going to tell you about my Christmas memories and the traditional things my family does. My family usually buys a tree that is too big for our house. We always end up moving the furniture instead of clipping the tree. Since I live right next to my grandparents, we always help decorate each other’s tree. When I wake up the next morning some of the decorations are laying on the floor beside our cats. Every Christmas Eve is the hardest night to sleep. I get excited and then wish it was already Christmas morning. After staying up until midnight, I gradually drift off to dreamland. The worst Christmas I ever had was when I was a baby, my first Christmas. My mom and I had the flu. We had a joyful time throwing up together. We went to the emergency room and got some medicine. After that, my mom always got us flu shots. I hope you have enjoyed laughing with me about my Christmas memories. I am looking forward to this next Christmas.
