Dear Festival Attendees: On behalf of the entire Lodi Grape Festival organization I welcome everyone to the Festival. For the 73rd time, it will be the best Grape Festival ever — and you can be a part of it!

This year is a wonderful combination of entertainment and education that truly offers “something for everyone.” It is our goal to present you a non-stop program that will wow you at every turn — ALL at a very affordable price. As always, the grape and commodity murals are a focal point and a wonderful display of team effort and creativity. The entertainment lineup is stronger than ever, with nationally known acts along with your local stars. One of the new and exciting exhibits at the Festival is the HAAI Shark Encounter featuring LIVE shark shows and a chance to see these creatures up close!

A big thank-you goes out to the Lodi News-Sentinel for its hard work putting this special “tab” of stories and schedules together, to our sponsors who are so generous, to all our staff and volunteers for their long hours making the Festival work, and to YOU — our patrons — for being a huge part of it all by coming out and seeing what we have to offer.

See you at the Festival!

— Mark Armstrong, Grape Festival CEO.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
