From country to rock ‘n’ roll and the classics of the ‘60s and ‘70s, this year’s headlining concerts at the Grape Festival offer entertainment for every kind of music lover.

This year’s lineup focuses on regional bands and original groups, rather than the tribute bands of the past, according to Grape Festival President and CEO Mark Armstrong.

Headlining at the Budweiser Amphitheater will be Shane Dwight with Bekka Bramlett, Daryle Singletary with special guests, Foghat, and Walter Trout with opening act Mick Martin & The Blues Rockers.

Singer-songwriter Shane Dwight, who splits his time between homes in Nashville and Hollister, is no stranger to Lodi stages. This summer, he performed at a sold-out concert at Lodi’s Jessie’s Grove Winery.

He’s bringing the same energy to the Grape Festival, where he has played several times in the past.

“I always try to keep the audience intrigued and involved,” he said. “I play a little blues, a little country and rock. I try to make it something for everyone.”

Though he will play a few covers that people love, he’ll mostly stick to his own songs.

“I really enjoy playing my original music because I spend a lot of time playing old blues,” he said.

This year, he says the show will be extra special because he is bringing special guest Bekka Bramlett.

Bramlett is a sought-after singer, who has performed back-up vocals for Elton John and Gretchen Wilson, and was the lead singer of Fleetwood Mac for five years when Stevie Nicks stepped down.

“Bekka is a spectacle all herself. She is total rock ‘n’ roll royalty,” Dwight said.

On Friday, Daryle Singletary will perform with the Brodie Stewart Band and Greg Scudder and the Beer.

Though he’s opening, Greg Scudder has performed a number of times at the Grape Festival. He’s been playing blues and rock for 40 years, and this version of the band has been together since 1993.

“My heart is really in the Blues Rockers,” he said. “I’ve been very blessed to live a life of music.”

They’ve played The California State Fair and were also the first non-Dixieland band to play The Sacramento Jazz Jubilee.

The five-member band will bring their guitar, organ/piano, bass and drums to the Grape Festival, which is one of their favorite venues.

“We love playing at the Grape Festival,” Scudder said. “It means, in a sense, that we’re coming home.”
