Local Rotarians are coordinating a special program at Lodi Lake Park celebrating local children’s art to kick off the Bluegrass at the Lake festival.
The children’s art show and musical performances are from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 5, in the Ron Williamson Youth Area at Lodi Lake, the day before the second annual Bluegrass at the Lake music festival. Artwork will be on display inside the festival tents in the Youth Area.
Visitors will be asked to vote for their favorite artwork, as well as favorite youth band. Rotary scholarships will be awarded for the People’s Choice Artists and People’s Choice Band.
Bluegrass and other musical enthusiasts are welcomed to bring their instruments for a post-event jam session.
Participating groups include the Galt Rotary Club, the Galt Sunrise Rotary Club, Lodi Rotary Club, Lodi Sunrise Rotary Club, Lodi Tokay Rotary Club, the Lodi Arts Commission, the Lodi Art Foundation, the Lodi Boys and Girls Club, the Got Kids Foundation, Partners in Education (PIE) and the Lodi Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department.
